Perspectives: The Berlin Wall....closing reception is August 15, 2014 6-10pm at the Centro Culturo de La Raza in Balboa Park, San Diego...my piece seen here is The Evolution of Mankind

Fourteen international artists, who all reside in San Diego and Los Angeles, were given pieces of the Berlin Wall to create works of art representing freedom, unity and beauty. The fall of the Berlin Wall and this transformation can be an example to the walls that exist today.

The collection encompasses sculptures, paintings, mosaics and graphics that embellish a thought provoking exhibit through 17 pieces of art.

NEW PAINTING

Nest I Cage series (WANDER) just completed....this painting is 48x72 and I say Bigger IS Better!  I had a particular idea of an image in my mind but as often happens, it is not nearly so easy to execute.  The painting took several iterations and ultimately includes at least 40 layers of paint.  I added, covered up, added, scraped, worked on the composition until I was satisfied that the negative space was as important as the positive.  I think there is both energy and calm in the piece and it should provide the viewer with a great experience.
